The Impatient Buyer's Secret To GPS Buying Success!

Clarissa May Walcott

The TomTom Go 920 T has just recently given way to it's replacement the TomTom Go 930 so adding to the continuing  proliferation of satellite navigation units whose rapid spread  can hardly have excaped anyone's notice.

These days there's a satnav unit for most every purpose involving direction finding.

With the passage of time however  these once simple, straightforward navigation devices have evolved into feature laden gizmos leading to much head scratching as buyers try to figure out what's in the box - never mind what's written on it - and what  exactly they're getting for their money...

It's little wonder that before forking out for a TomTom Go 920 T or any nav for that matter, a few sensible buyers seek out a good best GPS review of their preferred model while others simply set a budget, hold their noses, jump straight in and hope for the best.

A good review by the way can help you clarify what you want, explain the latest features in a dead easy to understand fashion and stop you paying through the nose for features that look good on the box but, if truth be told, will hardly ever be used.

There's two ways to go when it comes to buying a satellite navigation unit...

You can be very diligent by researching every feature, suss out every benefit and in so doing become an expert "satnaver".

This way you''ll know exactly what you're getting before you allow yourself to be separated from your cash.

If you're in a hurry on the other hand and can't be bothered with the swotting, there's a useful short cut... customer reviews.

Customer reviews are, for the most part, cutting and to the point when a buyer's experience with their purchase has been an unhappy one or positively gushing if their GPS has lived up to expectations.

  I love customer reviews!

If the consensus across the board is that a particular satnav model sucks well then you can be pretty sure that it does no matter what the experts say...

Because while the expert or professional reviewer may have to live with the unit he or she is reviewing for a day or so before handing it back to the supplier, buyers are generally stuck with their purchase for a few years at least.

So there you are about to splash the cash on your TomTom Go 930  or whatever - who would you trust to guide your opinion?

Expert opinion or a buyer who's parted with hard cash, lived with their purchases - and know their satnav like they know their friends?

Read the expert opinion by all means but ...put your money on the buyers I say!

      TomTom Go 930

The new top end model, TomTom  GO 930 Traffic is similar in appearance and mapping to the TomTom Go 920 T it replaces.

The big changes are software related with the  addition for instance of features such as the award winning IQ Routes as well as Advanced Lane Guidance, Map Share functionality and Bluetooth hands-free compatibility.
